Crazy Hairstyles

I did not have a lot to do this evening  so, I had to find something to do.  I said to myself I am going to have better luck upstairs so I had better get moving.  So I go upstairs and I find Selah [ my younger sister] dressing Livia up [my second to youngest sister]. I thought I would help.  So I said to Selah that I would do Livia's hair.  I braided her hair and put some clips in.  And it looked fabulous.  Selah also put make-up on her such as funky eyeliner, a lot of eyeshadow, and Mother's lipstick.

Another hairstyle I did was another braid in Mom's hair.  That was what gave me the idea to post a new blog post.  Back to Mom's hair - once I did it Ma said it was a very good braid and I finally got the hair tie in the right place.  I felt really happy about how good I am with hairstyles.  I'm glad I got to post tonight.  Hope you're enjoying my blog!!

Valentine's Day

A valentine from my sister.

On Valentine's Day I went to dance class.  Our dance teach made us write a essay about how much we love our parents.  Mine was pretty long.  We played a few games.  Then mom came to pick me up and we went to my grandparents house.  There we ate pizza and a special drink.

We also got to watch "Swiss Family Robinson". It is a great movie about a family that was shipwrecked and they had to find land .  They find land and later on build a tree house.  The mother and father wonder if the land they are on is a island or just a big piece of land .  So, they sent their oldest sons on a boat to do research on the island.  While they were on the island, they found the captain of a ship and his granddaughter that was captured by pirates.  The boys untied the granddaughter and took her with them and the pirates chased them through the jungle.  The boys, Fritz and Ernst, thought that the granddaughter was really a boy until they had fought over which direction to go; her hat fell off and they realized she was a girl named Roberta.  Later on, they help a zebra get out of quicksand. They found their way home on Christmas Eve.  The pirates come again, but the Robinsons are prepared for them and they attack.  Roberta's grandfather returns with one of his biggest ships and scares off the pirates and bombs their ship.  Ernst gets his dream and gets to go to a university, and Roberta, Fritz, Frances (the little brother), and the mother and father all stay on the island.  I think this is one of the best movies I have ever seen!

Clarice Bean

Clarice Bean:  Don't Look Now is the book that I am reading.  I like this book because the author who wrote it is so funny and creative.  She inspires me to write more and she gives me ideas.  I am hoping that one day I could write a book!!  Now I will tell you a little more about the book.  It really is a series of books that I got for my birthday from my Mom.  The book is about a girl named Clarice Bean and her life without her best friend.  Clarice Bean is from Great Britian.  Betty Moody, her friend, moved to San Francisco because her mom got a job there.  After summer is over, she has to go back to school planning on getting a new teacher.  But, instead she gets her old teacher that is cruel and mean, Ms. Wilberton.  A new kid named Clem Hansson seems to be nice to everybody in the beginning, but really isn't very nice after all.  I don't want to spoil it for you, so if you ever read the book you can find out yourself what happens.  Because I don't know what happens, but I'm close to the end of the book.  So, then I'm going to finally going to see what the conclusion of the book is.  I can't wait to finish the book!

Christmas Day

Christmas morning was so fun.  We were at my Bama and Abuelo's house in Oregon.  First thing in the morning I woke up, Selah and me looked in our stockings and they were stuffed.  The first thing I pulled out was a word search.  It was not long before I took out a book, sand art, and a paddle ball.  There were a few more little things at the end of the stocking with an orange at the tip.  Next, we went downstairs to have breakfast and were waiting for the parents to finish their breakfast so that we could open presents.

When we got in the living room, there were presents hidden all around the room.  I found mine in the back corner and it was in a bag that had monkeys on it, which I love.  It was a pretty big bag!  And when it was my turn to open my present, I was trying to cut the ribbon with scissors and said, "Forget this!  I'm just going to tear the bag open!"  And it was what I was really wanting for Christmas - a dolphin pillow pet.  I also got a bag that you design yourself from our friends from church and  a beautiful treasure box from my grandparents.  Mom and Dad got me a Barbie book;  I should mention that I get a Christmas book from Mom and Dad every year.  One of the funniest things that happened when we were opening presents was when Arianna opened one of her presents and said, "A book???".  And Mom said, "It's about 7 Little Postmen, how cute!"  Arianna just said, "Oh, great," and chucked it to the side.  I guess she's more interested in toys.

It was nice to be with my family up in Oregon, and I forgot to mention that we cut down our own tree from the woods.  My Christmas this year was so much like a Christmas I had a few years ago, but somehow it seemed even better because the whole family was there, including Dakota (who hadn't been born 2 years ago) and Lilah (our dog).  I had one of the best Christmases ever!

My Thanksgiving Week

Thanksgiving week was a very fun week, not that any other week was not fun, but Thanksgiving week gave me some ideas I would like to share with you.  Wednesday and Thursday are probably the ones that you are going to want to hear about.  Monday and Tuesday were not so exciting; I can tell you the basics - tidying up the house and folding laundry.  On Wednesday, we got news that we were going to go to our Grandma and Grandpa's for a sleepover.  I'm going to sort of skip ahead a little because the middle part is just loading up the car.  Grandma took us first to a place called, A Bird Haven.  A Bird Haven is a certain store where you can buy bird toys, and I guess birds maybe, I'm not sure.  First, we saw a cockatoo that when you said "hello" to it, it said "hello" back.  We also saw the same kind of bird in a cage that was going cuckoo.  His yellow feathers were all poked out on his head like a horn, more like a crown.  Then, a guy asked one of the shop managers to take out a macaw.  The manager told Grandma that if you barked at the macaw, he would bark back.  So, Grandma barked at it and it barked back.  I thought that was cool; he actually sounded like Lilah.  Lilah is our dog.  Next, we went down to the medium-sized birds, the parakeets.  The parakeets were very pretty!  We also saw a bird that was its size, but it was grey and pink.  I thought she was the most beautiful!  Then, we went down to the  even littler birds.  I thought that the most beautiful little bird looked like it was a rainbow because he had a red head, a green tummy, a purple back, yellow feathers on its wings, and orange feet.

Next, we went to this place called "Reptiles".  The first thing we saw was a beautiful iguana that was yellow and had this pretty crown.  The next thing that I thought was amazing that we saw were these humungous pythons.  The biggest one was by itself on top case.  The bottom case had 2 pythons in it; a female and a male and they were just a tad bit smaller.  We went to the next glass case and saw baby turtles.  They were so cute!  I got confused when I saw a lady buying hamsters; I didn't know what they were for.  Then, we all went to the car.

Grandma said that she had another surprise for us.  She took us to Old Navy and got us some nice boots.  Mine were coffee creme, Selah's were black licorice, Arianna's were dark chocolate, and Livia's I can't describe as any food.  They were pink, pink sparkles, and pink flowers.  Next, we stopped at Grandmas's work and saw Mrs. Brush.  She said we were right in time to put ornaments on the Christmas tree.  Then, we had hot chocolate and jelly beans.

After that we went home and watched a nice movie and went to bed.  We had a nice sleepover.

When we got back home to our house, we ate a few snacks.  Then, we ate Thanksgiving dinner and it was SO GOOD!!!!!!!!  I enjoyed my Thanksgiving week!

Operation Christmas Child

Yesterday, we went to our church friends' house to pack boxes for kids that don't get anything for Christmas.  First, we ate lunch.  Then, the director, Christen, showed us how to fold boxes.  Miss Carla helped me to fold my own box.  Then I was able to make one all by myself.  When I got tired of folding boxes, I went outside and started to help organize the toys to go into the boxes.  We had a boys and girls tables there for different ages (2-4, 5-9, and 10-14).  Once all the toys were organized, we started putting the things in the boxes that were necessary for a certain age.  When we were all done, I felt like I had done something really good!
